Paul’s Pick #1 – 227 Finger Avenue – Redwood City [click here for more]
Alright, folks, the theme for this week is expansion potential and all three properties have it in spades, starting with our first in 227 Finger Avenue in the Wesley Park neighborhood of Redwood City. This 3-bedroom 1-bathroom Spanish-style bungalow is surrounded by multi-million-dollar homes and is in one of Redwood City’s best neighborhoods. Currently listed for $950,000, that is lot value here, so your competition is gonna be developers looking to knock it down and put up a brand new 3-million-dollar home. However, given the charm and character of the home, along with its site plan, the way it’s positioned on the lot, I think it has plenty of potential to simply add on the existing structure, making it a 3-2, 4-2 1/2, or something of that nature, but competition will be stiff in this property. I’ll be surprised if it lasts longer than a week, better check it out this weekend.
Paul’s Pick #2 – 110 Willow Avenue – Millbrae [click here for more]
My second pick this week, I have 110 Willow Avenue in Millbrae. I like this home and others in the surrounding streets; they are on the downward-facing side of the hill, ’cause generally, there’s a lot of unfinished off basement space you can convert into living space. So there’s two ways you can expand upon the home, but the main reason why this is a pick is because it has now entered its 3rd week on the market, so we know it’s overpriced. I don’t think by much; I think maybe about $100,000 or so, but you better act quickly before the market realizes there’s a deal here.
Paul’s Pick #3 – 709 Bucknell Drive – San Mateo [click here for more]
For my final pick this week, I have 709 Bucknell Drive in the Baywood Hills neighborhood of San Mateo. This is one of my favorite neighborhoods in San Mateo because I think you get the most bang for your buck. And the big attraction here is the over 10,000-square foot lot that the home resides on. So, as far as expansion potential goes, your possibilities are just about endless. But the big reason this is a pick is because this home has just entered its 3rd week on the market, so just like the last one, we know it’s a bit overpriced. Again the key here is to act quickly before there’s a price reduction and before everybody else realizes what a great deal this home is.
