Paul’s Pick #1 – 920 Black Mountain Road – Hillsborough [click here for more]

For my first pick this week, I have our very own listing at 920 Black Mountain Road in Hillsborough. This is a single-level ranch style home, and while this is a style I do not gravitate towards, I absolutely fell in love with the central courtyard. Surrounded on multiple sides by French doors, it creates the perfect indoor-outdoor experience, ideal for entertaining or enjoying those beautiful summer evenings. This home is great whether you’re a down-sizer or you have a large family. Come check us out this weekend; we’ll be open both Saturday and Sunday from 2-4. I’ll see you there.

Paul’s Pick #2 – 340 Laurel Street – San Carlos [click here for more]

For my second pick this week, I have 340 Laurel Street in San Carlos. I absolutely love this property’s location; it’s just 4 blocks to downtown, and this is perfect for you buyers out there looking for a 2-bedroom in the 1.2 to 1.3 range, because it is the ideal owner-occupier duplex situation, for a couple of reasons. One, it’s completely turnkey and remodeled, meaning you can rent out that back unit as soon as you close escrow. And two, that back cottage is completely detached and has its own separate yard, so you can have maximum privacy for yourself and your tenant, and you can also rent out that unit for a premium. I estimate its value to be $2400-$2500 a month which pays for $500,000 into financing. So again, in this hot market, you gotta think of creative ways to get into certain areas, and one is to increase your purchasing power by buying properties just like 340 Laurel Street.

Paul’s Pick #3 – 1410 Palm Avenue – San Mateo [click here for more]

For my final pick this week, I have 1410 Palm Avenue in the Hayward Park Neighborhood in San Mateo. This is for you buyers out there who are looking for a large fixer-upper loaded with 20th century charm. Listed at $1.6, the price will jump a bit however, this is the case because of the condition of the property, that terms and short close are gonna matter just as much as price. So my advice to you if you’re serious is use as much due diligence as you can ahead of time, and run a nice, clean offer; it’s gonna save you some money.
